I won! Woohoo!
That being said, this book is far from finished. Judging by the way things are going, I have another 14 to 20,000 words left to write before it will be done. I should be able to get those out by the end of next week.
Honestly, despite the fact that I won NaNoWriMo, I’m a little disappointed in myself this month. I took 9 days off this month where I didn’t write anything. Some of that was due to family and illness but far too much of it was me giving in to being blocked and dealing with work stuff. I’m trying to build good habits and, while they’re getting better, too many of my habits are bad.
I abandoned Copper Visions just as it was getting good and I’m going to get back to it and finish it. I have the next couple chapters hand-written in a notebook currently and they’re not doing anybody any good in there. I also have more flash fictions to write and a Steampunk anthology to put together. I was hoping to have all of that done and ready for Christmas. It might still happen but I’m not counting on it.
One thing I do promise, though, is that I will keep updating the blog, even though NaNoWriMo is over. Yes, I have a bunch of other things I want to work on but this has been a good thing for me and I want to continue it. I’m not entirely certain what I’ll put up everyday but I’m going to try for something.
Thanks for taking this journey with me. Happy Writing!
I did a lot more writing today than I thought I did. Most of today I spent cleaning up the apartment and basically recovering from not being home except to eat and sleep for 3 weeks. 15 minutes here, 20 minutes there added up to a little over 2,000 words!
That being said, I am freaking exhausted. My back and shoulders are killing me and I think I’m going to be folding laundry in my sleep.

Did everybody else collapse in a food coma today? I didn’t, though I did take a nap. That, combined with this sinus headache I’ve had all day, has convinced me that I’m still sick. It’s probably for the best that I stuck with only one piece of pumpkin pie, then.
I wrote today! Not really as much as I wanted to but for cooking, serving and cleaning a magnificent feast, I’m considering getting anything done today a win.

And with that, I’m going to go steam myself until my sinuses open up enough to get some sleep. Happy writing!

I hope everybody takes a moment today to remember what we’re thankful for. Right now, I’m thankful my family and I have made it through this year with our health and our sanity mostly intact. We have a place to live, food on the table and people who love us. As precarious as certain parts of the situation may be, that’s a lot to be thankful for.
I hate getting out of the habit of writing, even if it’s only for a few days. It takes forever to get back into it. It’s been a real pain trying to figure out a comfortable place to write at home, especially without a decent chair. If anybody comes across a really great deal for an office chair this Friday, let me know.

I’m planning to write more but it’s midnight so I need to update.
Have you ever been not sick enough to really be worth complaining about but still sick enough to just collapse at the end of the day and have trouble focusing? Yeah, that’s been me the last few days. I’ve written almost 900 words since my last post and I fell asleep at the computer twice trying to get more done. This post is all I’m gonna manage today but I’m doing my best to keep updating.
Know what the best, most awesome thing to do when you finally have some down time? If you just said “catch the cold the kid came home with a week ago”, you would be a masochist. You would also be describing my day. Basically, I wrote about 5 words and took a nap (fell asleep in the chair, actually). Woke up and wrote 10 more and got a pounding headache.
I’m behind where I wanted to be by this point but I’m still working and moving forward. Some cold meds, hot tea and a good nights sleep should help kick this.
